This beautiful FDC from the United Nations New York was sent by Yue, thank you very much! It was posted on August 3 and arrived on September 1, 2017.

The stamp and FDC commemorates the World Heritage “Along The Silk Roads”. The stamp depicts the Longmen Grottoes in China.

austria-161026I received this beautiful registered cover from UN Vienna on October 28, 2016.

It was delivered on October 26 with the balloon “OE-SGS” in Puch bei Weiz during the course of the Pinkabria stamp exhibition.

The sales revenue of this event was donated to a children’s cancer research institute.

UN NY 150818Tristan has sent this very nice cover from the United Nations New York, thank you! It was posted on August 18 and arrived on August 24, 2015.

The two stamps on the left were issued on June 5, 2015. They are part of the set “World Heritage – South East Asia” and commemorate the Borobudur Temple Compounds in Indonesia and the city of Luang Prabang in Laos.

The top right stamp is part of the “Roses” definitive set, which was issued on February 6, 2009. The bottom right stamp was issued on May 7, 1993.

UN Vienna 150417This very nice cover from the United Nations Vienna was sent by Patrik, thank you! It was posted on April 17 and arrived on April 21, 2015.

The left stamp is part of the definitive set, which was issued on January 28, 2008. It depicts the monument for Johann Strauss (1825 – 1899) in Vienna.

The stamp set on the right was issued on October 21, 2014. It is part of the “Endangered Species”-series. The stamps depict the humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), the great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), the giant oceanic manta ray (Manta birostris), and the American paddlefish (Polyodon spathula).

Afghanistan 140410This very nice cover from Afghanistan was sent by Martin, thank you very much! I tried for some years to receive a cover from there, which seemed nearly impossible, but finally it worked! :D

The letter was posted in Kandahar on April 10 and arrived on April 22, 2014. On the back of the cover there is an additional postmark: “14.-4.2014 KABOUL Depart”.

The top left stamp was issued on September 9, 2006. It commemorates the World Post Day. The stamp below is part of a set (issued on June 1, 1985), which commemorates the International UNICEF Child Survival Campaign.

The top middle stamp is part of a set (issued on December 16, 2003), which commemorates the Tourism Day. The stamp below commemorates the United Nations Day. It was issued on October 25, 1969.

Last but not least, the right stamp is part of the set “Working Towards a Mine Free Afghanistan”, which was issued on April 4, 2006.

Austria 131012On October 16, 2013, I received this beautiful balloon post cover from Austria. It was posted at UN Vienna on September 30, then delivered by the balloon OE-ZVS, which started and landed in Pinkafeld on October 12, 2013.

Again the event was organised by the stamp collectors club BSV Pinkafeld. The sales revenue is used to aid the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute.

On 24 October 2012 I received this beautiful cover from Austria. The cover was delivered by balloon post with the Nivea balloon OE-ZNI, which started in Pinkafeld on October 19 and landed in Pinggau.

The attached UN stamp is cancelled with the first day cancel of September 5, 2012. It is part of the World Heritage set and commemorates the lakes of the Great Rift Valley, Kenya.

Again the balloon post event was organised by the stamp collectors club BSV Pinkafeld and the sales revenue is used to aid the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute.

This special Austrian cover was delivered by balloon post in Vienna on September 3, 2011. The cover was on board of the Nivea balloon OE-ZNI.

The special delivery took place in the course of the 22th balloon post event, which was organised by the stamp collectors club BSV Pinkafeld. The sales revenue is used to aid the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute.

The stamp is part of a set, which was issued on July 1, 2011. It commemorates the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

This nice cover from the United Nations Geneva was posted on January 31 and arrived on February 3, 2011.

The attached stamps commemorate the UN Volunteers program and the first Secretary-General Trygve Lie (1896-1968).

The left stamp is an older definitive issued on November 19, 1976. The right stamp was issued on October 2, 2009, and commemorates the International Day of Non-Violence.
