Jean Pierre sent me this beautiful cover from the Cocos Islands on December 21, 2009, thank you very much!

The left stamp was issued on February 28, 2008, and depicts the Saunders’s Tern (Sternula saundersi). The three other stamps are part of a set commemorating the 400th anniversary of the visit by Charles Darwin. They were issued on April 21, 2009.

The left Australian stamp is part of the set “Australian Songbirds” (issued September 9, 2009). It depicts the Mangrove Golden Whistler (Pachycephala melanura). The five se-tenant stamps are part of the “Coral Reef” set, which was issued on June 13, 2006.

The cover and the right stamp commemorate the 400th anniversary of the islands’ discovery by William Keeling. The stamp is part of a set, which was issued on April 21, 2009. The middle stamp depicts the endangered green turtle (Chelonia mydas); it was issued on August 4, 2009. Finally, the left stamp (issued on February 28, 2008) depicts the Saunders’s Tern (Sternula saundersi).
