Leyla sent me this nice postcard from Azerbaijan, thank you! It was posted in Baku on August 7 and arrived on August 12, 2014.

The picture depicts the Flame Towers skyscraper in Baku. The 2013 stamp on the backside commemorates the poet Mahsati Ganjavi (ca. 1089-1159).

This nice postcard from the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (breakaway region of Azerbaijan) was sent by S., thank you! It was posted in Stepanakert on May 22 and arrived on June 12, 2014.

The stamps are part of the mini-sheet (issued on September 2, 1996), which commemorates the “5th Anniversary of Independence”. The picture side of the card depicts the Gandzasar monastery.

karabakh 090505Cover from the internationally unrecognised Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh (break away region of Azerbaijan), posted in Stepanakert on May 5, 2009.

The cover has attached the top left stamp of the sheet of 2004 Christmas issue. It depicts a fragment of a Krkeni kilim of the 19th century, which was found in Harav Village.
