#1218 Niuafo’ou 19/05/01

This beautiful cover from Niuafo’ou was sent by Radim, thank you very much! It was posted on May 1 and arrived on May 16, 2019.

The top left stamp depicts the Pipi Tui flower (Hernandia moerenhoutiana), the bottom left stamp depicts the Cananga tree and flowers (Cananga odorata). The next stamp commemorates the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera).

The next stamp depicts flowers of Coleus amboinicus. Finally, the right stamp commeorates the butterfly “dark cerulean” (Jamides bochus).

The stamp set depicts some tree-kangaroos (species of the Dendrolagus genus).

This very nice cover from Australia was sent by Alfred, thank you! It was posted in Fairfield Heights on October 24 and arrived on October 30, 2018.

Alfred attached some stamps of the Australian Antarctic Territory. The top left stamp commemorates the Antarctic Treaty System. The top right stamp depicts some emperor penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri).

The bottom stamps depict the Prince Charles Mountains and an “Iceberg Alley” at Mawson Station.

The WWF stamps commemorate the Norfolk robin (Petroica multicolor; the stamp inscription is “Pacific robin”) and the Polynesian starling (Aplonis tabuensis).

The left stamp is part of the set “Marine Life”, which was issued on May 27, 2016. It depicts the whale shark (Rhincodon typus). The stamps on the right are part of the set “Islands Views”, which was issued on July 22, 2012.

The stamps are part of the set “Endangered Flora”, which was issued on April 26, 2012. The stamps depict the Lau Fan palm (Pritchardia thurstonii), the cycad Cycas seemannii, and the Fiji magnolia (Degeneria vitiensis).

#1133 Australian Antarctic Territory 17/10/01

On December 19 I received this beautiful cover from the Australian Antarctic Territory. It was cancelled on October 1 at the Davis Station, many thanks to the postmaster of Davis!

The stamp set was issued on March 7, 2017. It is entitled “East Antarctic Deep Sea Creatures” and depicts the Antarctic sea star (Odontaster validus), the Antarctic neosquid (Alluroteuthis antarcticus), a Pogonophryne ssp. and Antarctic pink anemone (Urticinopsis antarctica), and the Dorid nudibranch (Tritoniella belli) and deep sea coral.

The left stamp was issued on January 30, 1987. The middle stamp commemorates the Kwanzaa festival; it was issued on October 9, 2009. The right stamps depict a ballet dancer; they were issued on September 16, 1998.

It was posted sometimes in 2015 and arrived on November 25, 2016. The postmark shows no date only the name of the Fakaofo atoll.

The left stamp is part of the mini-sheet “Tokelau Language Week”, which was issued on October 15, 2014. The next stamp is part of the mini-sheet “Tokelau Vaka” (issued on June 18, 2014). The third stamp is part of the mini-sheet “Weaving”, which was issued on April 23, 2014.

The stamps on the right are part of the set “Scenic Definitives”, which was issued on April 11, 2012.
