Tristan has sent this very nice cover from Canada, thank you! It was posted at the Muskoka Steamships in Gravenhurst on September 25 and arrived on October 9, 2020.

The stamps are part of a set, which was issued on September 14, 2020. They commemorate the physicians James Till (b. 1931) and Ernest McCulloch (1926-2011), Balfour Mount (b. 1939), and Julio Montaner (b. 1956).

This registered cover from South Sudan is not addressed to me, because there is no international postal service in South Sudan at the moment. It was sent from Juba to Juba and then brought to Austria.

The stamp set was issued on July 21, 2020. It commemorates the international campaign against the Covid-19 pandemic.

This beautiful cover from Australia was sent by Jean Pierre, thank you! It was posted in Sydney on March 9 and arrived on March 23, 2020.

The cover is a stationery, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Australian Pig Breeders Association (1909–2009). The left stamp depicts an echidna. The right stamp commemorates the invention of spray-on skin cells.

Federico has sent this beautiful cover from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Rome, thank you! It was posted on March 30 and arrived on April 4, 2018.

The mini-sheet (a joint issue with Italy; issued on November 27, 2015) commemorates the San Giovanni Battista Hospital in Rome.

#854 French Southern and Antarctic Lands – Île de la Possession 10/03/27

TAAF 100327Here is another very nice cover from the Crozet Islands, thank you Jean Pierre! It was cancelled at the Alfred Faure base on Île de la Possession on March 27 and arrived on September 24, 2010.

On the back there is the cancel of Bruno Jean, who was the gérant postal of the 47th mission.

TAAF 100327 backThe left stamp was issued on January 1, 2010. It is part of the “Minerals” series and commemorates a tourmaline. The stamps on the right commemorate Dr Jean Rivolier, who was the physician of the 1952/53 French Antarctic expedition.

Lithuania 141011This very nice FDC from Lithuania was sent by Leonardas, thank you very much! It was issued in Vilnius on October 11 and arrived on October 14, 2014.

The FDC and stamp commemorate the first heart surgery in Lithuania, which took place 50 years ago.

Afghanistan 140410This very nice cover from Afghanistan was sent by Martin, thank you very much! I tried for some years to receive a cover from there, which seemed nearly impossible, but finally it worked! :D

The letter was posted in Kandahar on April 10 and arrived on April 22, 2014. On the back of the cover there is an additional postmark: “14.-4.2014 KABOUL Depart”.

The top left stamp was issued on September 9, 2006. It commemorates the World Post Day. The stamp below is part of a set (issued on June 1, 1985), which commemorates the International UNICEF Child Survival Campaign.

The top middle stamp is part of a set (issued on December 16, 2003), which commemorates the Tourism Day. The stamp below commemorates the United Nations Day. It was issued on October 25, 1969.

Last but not least, the right stamp is part of the set “Working Towards a Mine Free Afghanistan”, which was issued on April 4, 2006.

The top left stamp was issued on September 27, 2001, and commemorates Mexican pharmacy.

The right stamp (issued November 22, 2005) commemorates the castle of San Juan de Ulúa and the last Spanish Resistance.

The left stamp was issued on December 10, 2012, and commemorates the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the European Union.

The middle stamp commemorates the abatement of architectural barriers (“Abbattimento delle Barriere Architettoniche”). It was issued on November 9, 2012.

The right stamp (issued on September 23, 2012) has the inscription “Unitá e Valore/ Chirurgia Italiana/ Congresso Chirurghi Italiani/ Roma 23-27 Settembre 2012” (Unity and Worthiness of the Italian Surgery/ Italian Surgical Congress: Rome, 23-27 September 2012).

Thank you, Dr. Masaki Nomura, for sending this nice cover from Japan! It was posted in Kanda, Tokyo (神田) on August 6 and arrived on  August 9, 2012.

The left stamp was issued on July, 15, 1994. It is an issue of the Wakayama Prefecture (和歌山県).

The middle stamp (issued 1974) commemorates the different blood types. The right stamp of 1965 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which was founded in 1865.

The left 2011 stamp is part of the AIDS stamp set. The right stamp was issued 2002 and depicts a trumpet.

Thank you, Roman, for sending this beautiful cover from Poland! It was posted on February 27 in Kraków and arrived on March 1, 2012.

The cover and cancel commemorate the 11th Nationwide Week of Cystic Fibrosis and the MATIO foundation.

The left stamp is part of the set “Polish People around the World”, which was issued on August 29, 2011. It depicts the alchemist Michał Sędziwój (1566-1636).

The right stamp was issued on February 28, 2011. It commemorates the National Day of Cystic Fibrosis.

Norway 090423This nice cover from Norway was posted in  Stavanger on April 23, 2009.

The top left stamp was issued in 1970 and commemorates the Norwegian biologist Georg Sars (1837-1927). The middle two stamps commemorate the fight against tuberculosis (“kampen mot tuberkulosen”). The other three stamps were issued in 1981 and depict sailors at work and a sailing ship.
