#964 Saint Pierre & Miquelon 15/05/26

Jean Pierre has sent a cover from Saint Pierre and Miquelon again, thank you! It was posted in Saint-Pierre on May 26 and arrived on June 2, 2015.

The left stamp was issued on August 14, 2004. It commemorates the 500th anniversary of the first post-transport from Miquelon to Newfoundland. The next stamp is part of the “Bird” series: it depicts the American redstart (Setophaga ruticilla). The stamp was issued on January 17, 2015.

The next stamp was issued on March 26, 2014. It commemorates Albert Briand (1909–1966), who was president of the Territorial Council of SPM from 1964 to 1966. The right stamp is part of the “Birds” series too: it depicts the Bohemian waxwing (Bombycilla garralus), and it was issued on January 15, 2014.

Thank you very much, Jean Pierre, for sending me this beautiful cover from Saint Pierre and Miquelon! It was posted in Saint-Pierre on October 6, 2009.

The three left stamps are definitives of 1, 5, and 10 cent, which were issued on October 29, 2008.

The next two stamps are entitled “The Net Mender” and were issued on May 29, 2002. The right stamp commemorates the Arctic Hare; it was issued on September 11, 2002.
