The WWF stamps commemorate the Norfolk robin (Petroica multicolor; the stamp inscription is “Pacific robin”) and the Polynesian starling (Aplonis tabuensis).

Samoa 150214Here is another beautiful cover from Samoa, which was sent by Steven, thank you! It was posted in Fagamalo on April 14 (the postmark shows the wrong date “14 FEB”) and arrived on May 15, 2015.

The left stamp commemorates the lined surgeonfish (Acanthurus lineatus). It is part of the set, which was issued on March 17, 1993.

The middle stamp is part of the “Millennium” set, which was issued on January 1, 2000. The right stamp is part of the set “Water Resources”, which was issued on January 26, 1996.

The stamps depict the butterflies Vagrans egista, Dark Cerulean (Jamides bochus), and Godeffroy’s Swallowtail (Papilio godeffroyi).

Samoa 131119This beautiful cover from Samoa was sent by Jean Pierre, thank you! It was posted on November 19 and arrived on December 9, 2013.

The top stamp set was issued on May 25, 2011. It commemorates the Many-coloured Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus perousii). The bottom left stamp of 2013 commemorates the Teuila Festival, which was held from September 1 to 7, 2013. The two bird stamps on the right are part of a set, which was issued on May 29, 2013. They depict the Tooth-billed Pigeon (Didunculus strigirostris) and the Samoan Wood Rail (Gallinula pacifica).

The two stamps on the left depict scenes from every day life, and the three shaped stamps on the right depict the butterflies Papilio godeffroyi, Jamides bochus, and Vagrans egista.
