Korea 150717This very nice cover from South Korea was sent by Mr. Park, thank you! It was posted at Gwanghwamun in Jongno-gu, Seoul on July 17 and arrived on August 3, 2015.

The stamp set commemorates the “50th Anniversary of Korea-Peru Diplomatic Relations”. The set is a joint issue and was issued on April 1, 2013.

The bird stamps on the left depict the Chinese grosbeak (Eophona migratoria).

Ths stamps depict the endangered birds white-bellied cinclodes (Cinclodes palliatus) and marvellous spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis).

The left stamp was issued on January 13, 2015. It commemorates the patron saint of Andorra: Our Lady of Meritxell. The next stamp (issued Juni 11, 2003) depicts the northern wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe). The next stamp is part of a set, which was issued on March 27, 2002. It depicts the alpine accentor (Prunella collaris). The right stamp commemorates the Catalan poet Salvador Espriú (1913–1985). It was issued on January 10, 2013.

The top left stamp is part of the “Birds” set, which was issued on April 19, 2013. It depicts a common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus).

The middle stamp is part of the EUROPA stamp set, which was issued on March 15, 2013. The stamps on the right are the EUROPA stamps, which were issued on May 16, 2011.

#964 Saint Pierre & Miquelon 15/05/26

SPM 150526Jean Pierre has sent a cover from Saint Pierre and Miquelon again, thank you! It was posted in Saint-Pierre on May 26 and arrived on June 2, 2015.

The left stamp was issued on August 14, 2004. It commemorates the 500th anniversary of the first post-transport from Miquelon to Newfoundland. The next stamp is part of the “Bird” series: it depicts the American redstart (Setophaga ruticilla). The stamp was issued on January 17, 2015.

The next stamp was issued on March 26, 2014. It commemorates Albert Briand (1909–1966), who was president of the Territorial Council of SPM from 1964 to 1966. The right stamp is part of the “Birds” series too: it depicts the Bohemian waxwing (Bombycilla garralus), and it was issued on January 15, 2014.

Tristan 140403The philatelic bureau of Tristan da Cunha sent me this nice registered cover on April 3, 2014; it arrived on May 20, 2014. The whole letter was wrapped in transparent plastic foil and delivered via South Africa (see the registered sticker, which was applied on the foil).Tristan 140403reco

The stamps depict the Gough Bunting (Rowettia goughensis) and some Northern Rockhopper Penguins (Eudyptes moseleyi). The stamps are part of the definitive set, which was issued on November 1, 2010.

#809 Estonia 14/04/16

Estonia 140416Another very nice cover from Estonia was sent by Evald, thank you! The cover was posted in the very small village of Anne (47 inhabitants) on April 16 and arrived on April 22, 2014.

The left stamp (issued March 20, 2014) commemorates the “Bird of the Year”: the common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis). The right stamp commemorates the “Bird of the Year ” 2013: the grey partridge (Perdix perdix). The stamp was issued on March 7, 2013.

The definitive stamp below was issued on February 19, 2014.

#799 British Indian Ocean Territory 14/05/27

BIOT 140526On June 17, 2014, I received this letter from the British Indian Ocean Territory (Chagos Islands). It was dispatched out from Diego Garcia on May 27 and delivered via Singapore.

The stamps are part of a sheet that was issued on October 5, 2009. They commemorate the Scaevola Bush (Scaevola taccada) and the Madagascan Red Fody (Foudia madagascariensis).

Romania 140113This stunning registered cover from Romania was sent by Ladislau, thank you! It was posted in Bucharest on January 14 and arrived on January 16, 2014.

The mini-sheet (issued on February 28, 2009) depicts several birds of the Danube delta; the stamp commemorates the White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla).

The green and white sticker on the left is an information for the post office clerk to apply an especially nice postmark.

The stamp is part of the “birds” stamp set, which was issued on January 15, 2003. It commemorates the Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis).

#746 New Caledonia 13/05/21

New Caledonia 130521-2This very nice cover from New Caledonia was sent by Jean Pierre, thank you very much! It was posted in Nouméa on May 21 and arrived on June 3, 2013.

The left stamp (issued on November 8, 2012) commemorates the marine life of the Great South Bay Lagoon. The right stamp (issued March 8, 2013) depicts birds in the zone of the Entrecasteaux reefs, which are located in the northwest of New Caledonia. The reefs became an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

#717 Belize 13/09/24

Belize 130924My first cover from Belize was sent by Gabriel, thank you! It was posted in Belize City on September 24 and arrived on October 3, 2013.

The top left stamp is part of the birds mini-sheet, which was issued on July 31, 1978. It depicts the King Vulture (Sarcoramphus papa).

The next stamp commemorates the Government House of Culture in Belize City.

The next two stamps are part of the set “Famous Belizeans” (issued August 11, 1993). They commemorate Herbert Watkin Beaumont (1880-1978) and Karl Heusner (1872-1960).

The two stamps depicting Lady Diana (1961-1997) are part of the set, which commemorates her 21st birthday on July 1. The set was issued on May 20, 1982.

On the back is a GLS label sticker with the date October 2, 2013. So this letter is one of a few, which are not delivered by Austrian post.
