Germany 150417Jean Pierre has sent this nice cover from Germany, thank you! It was posted at the philatelic shop at the Berlin Zoological Garden on April 17 and arrived on April 20, 2015.

The stamp on the right depicts a Fachwerkhaus (timber-framed house) in Dinkelsbühl, which was built before 1600. The stamp was issued on December 6, 2012.

Germany 150613This cover from Germany was sent by Wolfgang, thank you! It was posted with the private LMF Postservice in Augsburg on June 13 and arrived on June 16, 2015.

Unfortunately the German Post put a sticker on the private stamp and applied an additional meter mark.

Germany 150613detailI made a see-through photo of the sticker and the stamp. It is part of a set, which commemorates the 550th birthday of Jakob Fugger (1459 – 1525). The stamp depicts the Fuggerstadt Weißenhorn.

German Antarctic Station 150201Here is another marvelous cover from Antarctica: It was cancelled at the German Antarctic research station Neumayer III.

The letter was carried by the icebreaker FS Polarstern, where it was cancelled on February 1. On February 2 the cover was cancelled with a “PAQUEBOT” postmark and handed over to the South African postal service in Cape Town. Finally it arrived at my place on February 23, 2015.

The large cachet in the top left corner depicts the Neumayer-Station III, which is operated by the Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI). The small cachet below shows the inscription “35. Überwinterung Neumayer III” (35th overwinter survival), the cachet next to it has the inscription “2014 Antarktis 34. Überwinterung” (34th overwinter survival 2014).

The stamp is part of a set, which commemorates the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and South Korea. It is a joint issue and was issued on June 6, 2013.

Germany 140508This very nice first day cover from Germany was sent by Igor, thank you very much! It was posted at the 24th International Stamp Fair in Essen on May 8 and arrived on May 14, 2014.

The left stamp is part of a set, which was issued on May 8, 2014. It is a stamp with surcharge for the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe (a German trust for the aid of sportspersons). The stamp designs were drawn by the German cartoonist Uli Stein.

The left stamp is part of the flowers definitives series and depicts a Tagetes species. The right stamp was issued on September 11, 2011. It commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Elbe Tunnel in Hamburg.

The middle stamp commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Oktoberfest. The stamp was issued on September 9, 2010.

The right stamp was issued on January 2, 2010, and commemorates the St. Michael’s Church in Hildesheim.

The cover is a postal stationery, which was issued on May 4, 2006. It commemorates the 800th anniversary of the Godesburg. This German castle was founded on October 15, 1210. The cover depicts an aquatint print by Friedrich Salathé reproducing a painting by Karl Bodmer (1809-1893).

The Carsten Fuchs company sent me this nice cover on March 18. It arrived on March 21, 2011.

The two 2010 stamps at the top commemorate a truss (Fachwerk) building in Eppingen. It depicts the Baumann house, which was built in 1582. The stamp was issued on October 7, 2010.

The bottom stamp is part of the set “Four Elements” and is entitled “fire”. It was issued on March 3, 2011.

The imprinted stamp commemorates the sailing ship “Großherzogin Elisabeth“. The cover commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Kiel Week.

Thank you, my German friend for sending this nice cover from Vaterstetten! The cover was posted on February 13 and arrived on February 16, 2010.

The attached stamp was issued on September 4, 2008. It commemorates the “Alte Rheinbrücke” (Old Bridge over Rhine) between Bad Säckingen and Stein in Aargau. It is a German/Swiss joint issue.

It was posted on January 22, 2010. The left stampis part of the 2007 set “pets” and depicts two guinea pigs. The right stamps are definitives depicting a Tagetes flower and the Erfurt Cathedral.
