#1265 Germany 20/01/02

This beautiful FDC from Germany was sent by Ulf, thank you! It was issued and sent on January 2 and arrived on January 20, 2020.

The left stamp is part of the flower definitive series and depicts a daylily (Hemerocallis sp.). The right stamp commemorates the 250th birthday anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827).

Here is an interesting cover from Germany, which was sent by Ulf, thank you! It was posted on December 30 and arrived on January 3, 2020.

The stamp on the right commemorates the 250 birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). The issue date of the stamp was January 2, so it was already used a few days before it got valid.

This very nice cover from the Order of Malta was sent by Federico, thank you! It was posted in Rome on March 30 and arrived on April 4, 2018.

The stamps are part of the set, which commemorates the 500th anniversary of the birth of Teresa of Ávila (1515–1582). The set was issued on June 30, 2015. The stamps depict a part of the painting Estasi di Santa Teresa by Pietro da Cortona.

On September 2 I received this nice cover from Lundy, UK. It was posted on August 29 and cancelled again by the Royal Mail on August 30, 2019.

The stamp commemorates the visit of the royal family to Lundy in 1977.

The card depicts a map of the Gaugazian territory. The Moldovan stamp commemorates the British writer Jonathan Swift (1667-1745).

The top left cancellation commemorates Hamburg’s honorary citiztens Hannelore “Loki” and Helmut Schmidt. The bottom left cancellation commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Kulturpalast Hamburg (cultural centre).

The right stamp and its cancellation commemorates the 150th anniversary of the North German Postal Union.

My first cover from Liberia was sent by Alena, thank you! It was posted in Monrovia on October 11 and arrived on October 18, 2018.

The top left stamp is part of a set, which was issued on February 14, 2012. It commemorates the 30th anniversary of SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia. The next stamp commemorates president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (*1938). It is part of a set, which was issued on August 22, 2006. The top right stamp depicts US president Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919); the stamp is part of a mini-sheet, which was issued on May 4, 2009.

The bottom left stamp is part of the set “Traditional Dances and Masks”, which was issued on August 2, 2009. The last stamp is part of the mini-sheet “The Aliens of Star Trek”, which was issued on December 21, 2015.

Alena also included a postcard, which depicts Liberia’s largest lake: Lake Piso.
