#1176 Curaçao 11/09/23

In October 2011 I received this registered letter from Curaçao. It was posted on September 23, 2011.

The left stamp is part of the set “Sea Shells”, which was issued on 19 September 2008. It commemorates the shell Strombus gigas.

The right mini-sheet was issued on 25 October 2010. It depicts the sapphire-rumped parrotlet (Touit purpuratus).

The cover is interesting because stamps of two different countries were used. The country Netherlands Antilles was dissolved on 10 October 2010, but the stamps were still valid.

#520 Curaçao 11/09/21

John sent me this nice cover from Curaçao, thank you! It was posted on September 21, 2011.

The two left stamps are part of a set of five, which commemorates the Chinese Year of the Rabbit. The other stamps are part of the set “New Beginnings – Constitution – Fish” and depict the Yellow Goatfish (Mulloidichthys martinicus) and the grooved brain coral (Diploria labyrinthiformis).
