#838 Nevis 14/09/08

Nevis 140908My first cover from Nevis was sent by Wolfgang, thank you! It was posted in Charlestown on September 8 and arrived on September 17, 2014. Interestingly the postmark has the inscription “FIRST DAY OF ISSUE”.

The top left and bottom middle stamp are part of the 2013 definitives set. They commemorate the ray-finned fish (Pomacanthus xanthometopon) and the barred hogfish (Bodianus scrofa).

The top middle stamp commemorates the Nassau grouper (Epinephelus striatus). It is part of a mini-sheet, which was issued on September 1, 1995. The top right stamp is part of a mini-sheet (issued on July 25, 1994) and depicts the saddle squirrelfish (Holocentrus poco). The bottom left stamp depicts the Nassau grouper too.

The bottom right stamp (part of a set that was issued on December 20, 1991) commemorates the mushroom Marasmius haematocephalus.
