#1306 Mauritius 11/06/??

This nice cover from Mauritius was sent by David, thank you! It was posted in Port Louis and arrived on June 21, 2011.

The left stamp is part of the “Fish” set, which was issued on October 9, 2000. It depicts the tomato hind (Cephalopholis sonnerati). The right stamps is part of the set “Mauritius in World Heritage” and depicts the Le Morne peninsula. The stamp set was issued on April 18, 2011.

UN NY 150818Tristan has sent this very nice cover from the United Nations New York, thank you! It was posted on August 18 and arrived on August 24, 2015.

The two stamps on the left were issued on June 5, 2015. They are part of the set “World Heritage – South East Asia” and commemorate the Borobudur Temple Compounds in Indonesia and the city of Luang Prabang in Laos.

The top right stamp is part of the “Roses” definitive set, which was issued on February 6, 2009. The bottom right stamp was issued on May 7, 1993.

#746 New Caledonia 13/05/21

New Caledonia 130521-2This very nice cover from New Caledonia was sent by Jean Pierre, thank you very much! It was posted in Nouméa on May 21 and arrived on June 3, 2013.

The left stamp (issued on November 8, 2012) commemorates the marine life of the Great South Bay Lagoon. The right stamp (issued March 8, 2013) depicts birds in the zone of the Entrecasteaux reefs, which are located in the northwest of New Caledonia. The reefs became an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

Japan 130314This nice FDC from Japan was sent by Takeshi, thank you! It was issued and posted in Hiroshima (広島) on March 14 and arrived on March 19, 2013.

The stamps are part of the “World Heritage” set. They commemorate the Pyramids of Giza and the Mont Saint-Michel.

#705 Cuba 13/07/01

Cuba 130701Thank you, Luis Alberto, for sending this beautiful cover from Cuba! It was posted in Havana on July 1 and arrived on August 12, 2013 (six weeks of delivery time).

The cover is a first day cover of the stamp set on the right. The four stamps were issued on May 8, 2009. They commemorate the Cuban UNESCO World Heritage Sides Havana, Cienfuegos, Camagüey, and Trinidad.

The two stamps on the left are part of the cactus set, which was issued on August 15, 1994. They depict the cacti Pilocereus robinii and Pereskia marcanoi.

The left stamp was issued in 1998, it commemorates the mosaics of the world heritage site Umm ar-Rasas. The three se-tenant stamps at the right commemorate the beginning of the third millennium.
