France 121212Jean Pierre sent this cover from France, thank you. It was posted in Paris on lucky date 12/12/12 and arrived on December 14, 2012.

The left stamp commemorates the “Fête du timbre — Le timbre fête le feu” (Stamp Day — The stamp celebrates the fire); it was issued on October 15, 2012. The right stamp was issued on November 5, 2012. It commemorates the city of Belfort and the famous sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (1824-1904), who designed the Statue of Liberty and the Lion of Belfort.

Austria 121212On December 17 I received this nice cover, which was posted at the post office 1212 Vienna on lucky date December 12, 2012.

The attached stamp is one of the 2012 Christmas stamps and was issued on November 30.

Thank you very much, A., for sending this beautiful cover from the Marshall Islands on the lucky date October 10, 2010!

The cover was posted on Majuro – Uliga and arrived on October 27. The three stamps are part of the set “Roses of the Year”, which was issued on June 18, 2009. They depict the roses “Champagne Moment”, “Tickled Pink”, and “Sweet Haze”.

On October 12, 2010, I received this funny cover from Austria. It was posted on October 10, 2010, which was a Sunday, when usually all Austrian post offices are closed. But Austrian post opened a Sonderpostamt (special office) in Vienna (post code 1010) for a few hours.

In addition to the lucky date and postcode there are 10 stamps à 10 cent attached on the cover.

UAR 090909Obsessed sent me this nice cover from the United Arab Emirates on the lucky date 09-09-09, thank you!

The cover has attached three different 2009 stamps. The left stamps commemorate “100 Years of Postal Services”. The right triplett of stamps depict the falcon, which is the heraldic animal of the coat of arms. The cover was posted in Al Rashidiya, Dubai.
