The cover and stamps commemorate some Lithuanian folk musical instruments: wooden whistles, a trumpet made of alder bark, and a Baltic zither (kanklės). A summary of Baltic folk music can be found at worldmusic.net.

The cover commemorates the 80th anniversary of the “Sėla” museum housed in Biržai Castle (Biržų krašto muziejus SĖLA).
The left stamp commemorates a 16th century fisherman’s boat, the kurėnas. The right stamp is part of the EUROPA set, which was issued on April 25, 2009. It commemorates the famous astronomer Galileo Galilei (1564-1642).
