#551 China 11/12/22
XU Hui sent me this very nice cover from the People’s Republic of China, thank you! It was posted in Nanchang (南昌) on December 22, 2011, and arrived on January 4, 2012.
The stamp set on the left is entitled “Liangzhu Jade“. It was issued on March 8, 2011.
The right stamp set was issued on 12 June 2010 and commemorates the Kunqu Opera. It depicts scenes from the plays “The Palace of Long Life”, “The Peony Pavilion” (牡丹亭), and “Washing the Silken Gauze” (浣紗記).

David sent me this nice cover from Mauritius, thank you very much! It was posted in Port Louis on December 12, 2010.
The left two stamps commemorate the fish species Cephalopholis sonnerati.
The middle stamp is entitled “Mauritius in World Literature”. It commemorates the writer Alexandre Dumas (1802-70) and his novel “Georges“.
The right stamp commemorates Dr. K. Hazareesingh, the former director of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute and a well-known Mauritian writer.

On December 6, 2020, I received this nice cover from Tunisia, thank you my friend!
It was posted on November 25 in Tunis. The top 2005 stamp commemorates Jebba Karmassoud. The bottom 2009 stamp commemorates the 100th birthday of the poet Aboul-Qacem Echebbi (1909-1934).

It was posted on June 18 and arrived on June 21, 2010. The attached 2002 mini-sheet commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Estonian kroon. The top stamp depicts a part of the 100 krooni banknote showing the poet Lydia Koidula (1843-1886). The bottom stamp depicts a part of the 500 krooni banknote showing the writer Carl Robert Jakobson (1841-1882).

The left two stamps were issued on April 1, 2009, the right one on March 21, 2008. All three commemorate the 200th birthday of Nikolai Gogol (Никола́й/Мико́ла Го́голь; 1809-1852).
