#458 Portugal 10/10/02

On October 7, 2010, I received this nice FDC from Rui José, thank you very much! It was issued on October 2 and commemorates the French Revolution in 1789.

This nice cover from Portugal was sent to me by Rui José, thank you very much!

The cover was posted in Lisbon on December 18, 2009. The special cancellation commemorates the 90th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (Organização Internacional do Trabalho, OIT). The inscription says “90 anos a trabalhar pela justiça social” (“90 years working for social justice”).

The stamp is part of the Christmas set, which was issued on October 21, 2009.

Rui José sent me this interesting FDC from Portugal, thank you!

It was issued in Lisbon on March 8, 2010, and commemorates the public city transport. The attached stamp is part of the 4th set of this series. It depicts the cacilheiro (a ferry linking Lisbon to Cacilhas) “Madragoa”.

In addition to the stamps and special cancellation a sticker with the inscription “First Day of Issue” in several languages was attached.

The FDC and stamps were issued on October 23, 2008. They commemorate the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008.

The stamp depicts a Macaco-Diana and commemorates the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin.

The special postmark commemorates the 7th anniversary of the forum www.selos-postais.com.

The bottom left stamp of 5 cent is part of the set “Portuguese Masks”, which was issued on June 29, 2006. It depicts a mask of the “Festa dos Rapazas”. The two right stamps are of the 2008 lighthouse set. The top left stamp of 2 cent depicts the bird Abelharuco; it is part of the set “Birds of Portugal III”, which was issued on February 26, 2002.
