Ceska 091013This beautiful cover from the Czech Republic was sent to me by Milan, thank you!

The two stamps depict a painting resp. an engraving of Antonín Chittussi (1847-1891) and Lucas van Leyden (1494-1533).

The cover was cancelled with a special postmark “100 Let Ob Rekonstrukce Hlavní Pošte” (100 Years Since the Reconstruction of the Main Post Office) in Prag on October 13, 2009.

Milan sent me this nice cover with two different stamps, both issued on November 5: “Christmas Tradition” on the right and a stamp with two coupons attached. It commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Czech post. It shows a painting of Josef Lada (1887-1957). Milan wrote about these stamps in this post.

The left stamp commemorates the Czech conductor Rafael Kubelík (1914-1996). The right stamp depicts the painting “Opušténá” (1901) of Jaroslav Panuška (1872-1958), which is housed in the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové.

The stamps are of the definitive series depicting the zodiac signs Libra and Aquarius, and of the flower series depicting a cyclamen (“brambořík”) and a rhododendron (“azalka”).
